Lupinus

Lupinus

The Lupinus, know also as Lupinus Albus, is a legume coming from Chile. Given their richness in vitamins and mineral salts, it would be vital and of great importance to incorporate them into the daily diet of every family. Furthermore, based on their quantity of protein, this product is widely used in the Middle East, Africa and Asia. Our product follows a well documented procedure, whereby, starting out with a dried bean, our company carries out the monitored cooking process in salted water. The Lupine beans are then washed repeatedly, so as to eliminate any lingering impurities and any leftover bitterness, and insure the appropriate pH levels. They are then packaged in pickling water, so as to provide a ready to use product. They are ideal as a healthy snack to munch on in front of the TV, or served amongst other nibbles. But you could also indulge in some more complex recipes. An example of this are the tender Lupinus hamburgers, made by mashing the legumes with some boiled potatoes, seasoned with rosemary, chives, parsley and lemon. They are a hearty alternative to meat, providing our bodies with the proteins necessary in our daily diet. In this fashion, we unite the requirements of our taste-buds (for those of us who are epicureans) with the need to maintain a wholesome and healthy lifestyle.
